Random Tips

  1. You know that brown paper Amazon stuffs packages with? Save it like it’s gold. It is the perfect paper for starting fires for your fire pit, charcoal chimney, burning papers and cardboard boxes, etc.
  2. Use T-corks to push veggies and fruit below the brine when fermenting. T-corks are made of wood that’s meant to get wet and food-grade plastic. Sanitize the T-corks and your hands, push your ferment below the brine with the T-cork–plastic side down, and place the container lid atop the wooden side of the cork to pin and stabilize it. Close lid loosely and ensure the cork didn’t fall over. This will keep everything below the brine if you had proper head space.
